The reason that we can float in these body of water without trying.Is a masseve amout of salt mixed with the water over the years.
The dead sea is also known as the salt sea.It is the lowest place on the earth, about 1,300 feet below sea level. The sea is actually fed into by the Jordan river.
I am curious how this lake became salty, because aren't lakes typically fresh water?
I know that many items float easily that typically wouldn't float in fresh water, so why do they float in these particular bodies of water?
The Black Sea is very salty because it is closed off and there is no outlet for it to go to the ocean. So when ever salt or any other minerals float in the Black sea there is no way for it to get out. Also salt and other minerals don't evaporate so even when the water evaporates the salt will always stay there because there is no outlet.
The Great Salt lake like the Dead Sea has no outlet. 4 rivers empty in to the Great Salt lake and then they are there forever because there is no stream or outlet letting the water out. And even when the water evaporates the salt stays behind.
the reson we can float in water is because lets say you way 100 pounds and the water ways/or its mass is 200 then youll be able to float.If the water is to your knees when you stand up then you lay in the water you are going to float from its mass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason why the dead sea is so salty is because the water evaporates to fast for new water to come in. Plus, one industry is tourism.The Grate salt lake is salty because it has no out let and the water evaporates which leaves salt behind. Brine shrimp eggs are harvested and sold over seas.

Now the salinity of the Great Salt Lake in Utah is very high and saltier than the ocean and since there was 3 rivers surrounded it long time ago the rivers deposited 1.1 million pounds of minerals and since water was constantly bieng evaporated the minerals stayed.
The sorce of the dead sea's sanity is that the lake sanke so it got more salt ion it.Why the Great salt lake got is sanity is beacuse Jordan, Weber, and Bearc lake deposite 1.1 millons tons of minerals into the lake each year. I don't think that eater of the lakes have any industries that help get them salty.
the black sea is salty because whenever minerals such as salt enter this sea they cant get out because is closed of to the ocean and no way they can escape from sea.
